Do you feel as though you simply can’t stick to a workout routine, no matter what you do? If so then now is the time for you to take action on that. If you follow this guide then you will find it easier to get the results you need, without spending every waking hour at the gym.
Start Slow
The best way for you to form a new habit would be for you to start slow. Break your fitness goals into smaller, more manageable chunks. Don’t be hot out of the gates thinking that you will be able to run five miles in a single day. You need to start by running one mile every day for a week and see how you do. Although you may find this easy on the first few days, you may find that over time, things build up and this can lead to mental fatigue and physical pain. Although this isn’t a bad thing, as your body will adjust, if you overdo it then you will experience burnout. If you want to help yourself then make sure that you slow down and take things at a slower pace.
Find a Friend
Another thing you can do to make your life easier is find a friend. Good company when you are working out is really hard to beat. Research has shown time and time again that people feel way more motivated when working out if they have someone there with them. Ask some friends if they can meet you or ask them to join you on a scenic walk. You might also want to try and join an aerobic class together if you can. Seeing friendly faces every week at the gym will help you to stick with your workout, so try and keep that in mind if you can as it will make a huge difference to you.
Reward Yourself
It’s so important that you try and reward yourself as much as possible. If you have been holding off with treating yourself then now is the time for you to stop that. It may be that you try and have a spa day or that you try and set a milestone with working out. Either way, if you can, you need to acknowledge the progress you are making so you have a reason to keep pushing on. Although losing weight can be a good goal, you do need to make sure that you are adding in lots of other rewards along the way. If you don’t then you may find that you struggle to keep up with things and this is the last thing you need.
So as you can see, you can make a positive change and if you follow this guide, you will soon find that you can put in way more hours at the gym, without even feeling like it. You may also find that you can stick to your routine for longer, which is always a good thing.
